Port of Montreal Work Stoppage
November 11, 2024

Dear Valued Customer,

As reported by the Maritime Employers Association (MEA), due to a negative outcome of the vote by the Montreal Longshoremen’s Union and as settlement was not able to be reached between parties, a labor lockout began on November 10 at 21:00 hrs and remains in effect until further notice.

Please refer to the respective terminals websites for any updates involving their location:

Montreal Gateway Terminal (MGT):   https://www.mtrtml.com/
Termont Terminals:  https://www.termont.com/

As intermodal rail service is currently impacted, please check with the local rail provider on revised receiving schedules prior to dispatching your trucker:
Canadian National Railway (CN): https://www.cn.ca/en/
Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC): https://www.cpkcr.com

In addition, information regarding negotiations and port information may be obtained at:

Maritime Employers Association (MEA): https://www.mea.ca/en/info-nego/
The Port of Montreal: https://www.port-montreal.com/en/goods/operations/notices-goods

OOCL continues to monitor the situation and will communicate additional information when it becomes available.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to your business operation.

Regards,
