Structure change of Hong Kong Demurrage and Detention Free Time/Tariff

Structure change of Hong Kong Demurrage and Detention Free Time/Tariff

Dear Valued Customers,

This is to advise that effective from 1st January 2021, OOCL will change the Demurrage and Detention (Both Export and Import) structure to be Storage (Quay Rent) and Combined Demurrage and Detention (DD2in1) for all cargo in Hong Kong.

Definition:

Export Combined Demurrage and Detention (DD2in1)

Start from the 1st day when removal of the container from carrier’s facility (gate-out) and end at the same day as cargo cut-off.

Export Storage (Quay Rent)

Start from the 1st day when the container gate-in to carrier’s container yard (CY) and end at the same day as cargo cut-off.

Import Combined Demurrage and Detention (DD2in1) 

Start from the 1st day of import cargo availability as notified by the terminal and end at the same day as container return to carrier.

Import Storage (Quay Rent) 

Start from the 1st day of import cargo availability as notified by the terminal and end at the same day when container gate out at terminal, except for Dangerous Cargo IMO Class 2/3 and HK Reg. 177D which start from the 1st day of import vessel arrivals and end at the same day when container gate-out at terminal.

Note - Effective date would be based on followings:
• Outbound: For TPT trade would be based on cargo receiving date, others would be based on cargo on-board date.
• Inbound: For TPT trade, Mexico and Latin America shipment would be based on cargo receiving date, others would be based on cargo on-board date.
