Tianjin Port - Reefer Discharge Disruption Notice
Tianjin Port - Reefer Discharge Disruption Notice
November 25, 2020

Dear Valued Customer,

Due to the recent stringent measures and coronavirus test on imported reefer cargo during COVID-19 situation, the China imported reefer cargo release has been seriously affected. Some of the PRC terminals such as Xingang,Tianjin, had already reached a very high utilization or full capacity of the reefer plug situation, which may impact the direct discharge of imported reefer containers upon vessel arrival. Due to this operational constraint, change of diversion at an alternative discharge port would be required for Tianjin imported reefer shipments. As a consequence, all extra costs including but not limited to storage, demurrage, power, monitoring, plugging and unplugging at the alternative discharging port and subsequent extra on-carriage cost to original destination shall be for Merchant’s account and payable upon delivery.

For shipments en-route for Tianjin port, customers are encouraged to arrange change of destination to other ports, in order to avoid any last-minute re-routing with extra cost incurred.

For new bookings to Tianjin port, please be reminded there might be possible diversion and extra costs in case of the continuous rejection of discharge by the terminal.

Thank you for your understanding and for your continued support of OOCL. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact our local customer representatives.
