OOCL receives award from World Wildlife Fund (WWF)

OOCL received an award and recognition from the World Wildlife Fund in Hong Kong (WWF) for our support of their Corporate Membership 2008.

OOCL joined WWF as a Pearl Member in September 2008, thanks to funds raised by colleagues at a Green Auction held during OOCL Green Week in July. The funds are channeled into local conservation programs and community education in Hong Kong and China.

WWF is a leading global environmental charitable organization with a strong focus on marine conservation, including an SOS “Save Our Seas” campaign. The SOS campaign aims to protect local marine biodiversity, restore fisheries, and create new jobs for fishermen who wish to stop fishing and carry out other non-extractive economic activities. The organization is also working on a range of climate change programs in Hong Kong and the Pearl River Delta.
