OOCL announces Slack Season Capacity Adjustment Program on Northeast Asia-Australia trade

In response to the forecasted change in demand on the Northeast Asia to Australia trade, OOCL will implement a slack season program during the January to June period in 2012.  The program consists of blank sailings and slot swaps which would remove an average capacity of about 16 percent.

The primary objectives of this program are to reduce excess capacity and matching the forecasted demand level.  In addition, by taking a proactive role in caring for the environment, this program will help minimize our carbon footprint by reducing emissions and fuel consumption.

OOCL is dedicated to maintaining high quality services to the trade and will minimize any potential disruptions to customers’ shipments when this program takes effect.  Specific details will be communicated locally over the coming weeks.

For further information, please contact your local sales representatives.

Thank you for your continual support of OOCL products and services.
