Asia-Europe Trade – Low Sulphur Fuel Surcharge
OOCL fully complies with all environmental regulation and requirements related to our operations and we would like to inform you that new regulations with regards to the use of Low Sulphur Marine Gas Oil (LSMGO) will come into force with effect from January 1, 2015, reducing the level of LSMGO from 1.0%, down to 0.1% for the Emission Control Area (ECA) in the North Atlantic, Baltic Sea, English Channel and North Sea.
In order to cover for the higher cost from using 0.1% LSMGO, please be informed that OOCL will implement a Low Sulphur Fuel Surcharge (LSS) for the Asia-Europe trade, effective from January 1, 2015, for all shipments received on the gate-in date.
The quantum for the LSS in January 2015 will be as follows:
Asia to/from North Europe – USD 24 per TEU
Asia to/from Baltic/Scandinavia – USD 77 per TEU
The quantum will be reviewed on a monthly basis.
We thank you for your understanding and continued support towards our ongoing efforts to improve the environment and contribute to a sustainable industry.
