Fraudulent emails using “support@oocl.com” to deceive

Recently, OOCL is aware that there have been an increasing number of emails appearing to originate from “support@oocl.com” but are in fact sent by fraudsters.

These emails may carry harmful malware and/or messages to deceive the recipients.

Email recipients should always be cautious of phishing emails with some of the following observations:

•         Be cautious if you receive an email that you have not been expecting.

•         Check the email sender field and look carefully to see if it is indeed from “support@oocl.com” (and not, for example, from “support@OCCL.com” or “support@OOOCL.com”) because the email address can be spoofed.

•         OOCL does not send executable file attachments by email and may likely be a fraudulent attempt to deceive you.

•         Hover your mouse over any embedded URL link in the email to check the true destination of the URL.

If you encounter a suspicious email from “support@oocl.com”, or have any doubt to the authenticity of the communications claimed from OOCL, please kindly contact our local representatives immediately.
