Please noted that OOCL is scheduled to begin the deployment of Step 1 Maritime and Inland Waterway Carriers in October 2024.
In accordance with the new regulations, it is mandatory to conduct a risk assessment within 24 hours of receiving the Entry Summary Declaration (ENS) in the newly centralized European Customs system, also known as the Shared Trader Interface (STI). Please be aware that your cargo can only be loaded at the compliant load port after a successful ENS submission, which will be verified by the receipt of an Movement Reference Number (MRN) acknowledgement. OOCL will be enforcing a ‘NO MRN, NO LOAD’ policy. This means that without a valid MRN, your cargo will NOT be loaded.
Customers are required to provide complete and accurate shipping instructions (SI) before the SI cutoff closing time found posted on our website or in our Booking Acknowledgements(BA)/Confirmations document. The following necessary ENS data elements are required to be included as part of your SI.
- A complete and accurate cargo description
- 6-digit Harmonized System (HS) code for each cargo description.
- The Economic Operators Registration and Identification (EORI) number of the consignee established in the EU, if such a number was assigned to this party, or the full address of the consignee, including the P.O. box number, postal code, sub-division code, city, and country.
- Buyer and seller information is required for place of delivery in EU member states, Norway, Switzerland, and Northern Ireland for the Straight Bill of Lading.
- Customs Union and Statistics Number (CUS code) for harmless and DG if applicable, as maintained in the European Customs Inventory of Chemical Substances(ECICS).
- EORI number of the supplementary declarant (Self-filer on Buyer and Seller Information or House Bill of Lading Information)
OOCL will continue to update customers if there are any further developments regarding this customs initiative.
Should you have any inquiries relating to this regulation, please feel free to contact our local customer service representatives.
Thank you for your attention and support of OOCL.
