E-Signature on Bills of Lading Has Become the Standard for Shortened Transaction Time

Recognizing the benefit of shortened transaction time, the majority of OOCL customers has already switched to e-signature on Bills of Lading (“B/L”), according to the latest statistics.  With e-commerce becoming more popular, globally only a small percentage of B/L still require manual signature, either as an accustomed practice between the customer and their trading partners, or as a term copied from a conventional Letter of Credit (“LC”).  For both cases, manual signature can be easily replaced by a digital one without any business impact.
