OOCL's Weibo Hits 4000 Fans!

OOCL’s activity on Weibo started back in April 2010, less than a year after the Chinese micro-blogging site was launched. We were the first international shipping company to be authenticated by Sina.com and we have been using the site extensively to serve our target audience ever since.

OOCL has employed the social media channel to develop its interaction with, and support of, the online customers and shipping community that follow OOCL on Weibo. To keep the blog lively, we post not only short micro-blog messages, but also photos and shipping schedules.  We surprised our 2000th follower, who is from Beijing, by sending her a gift.  After the blog had been used to post job vacancies, our 3000th follower, a University Student from Zhuhai, was given an internship in our Zhuhai Office to help with her wish of having a career in the shipping industry!

In our first 10 months on Weibo, we managed to get 1000 followers, 4 months later we got to 2000, by July 2011 we hit 3000 and less than a month later the counter hit 4000! Our huge numbers of followers include customers, freight forwarders, as well as agents from all over the shipping industry including trucking, media and students. This network of over 4000 people is a great way to spread the OOCL word and keep our finger on the pulse of the worldwide shipping industry.
