I joined OOCL in 2008, just after getting my Bachelor’s degree.  I started my career in OOCL as a graduate trainee, where I was given tremendous opportunities to gain hands-on experiences in different aspects of the shipping industry.  Besides routine duties, there were also chances for me to participate in special projects like the website and brochure design for our newly-established department.

My colleagues, along with the company culture, impressed me a lot with their strong sense of team spirit and generosity in sharing their experience.  This really helps in my training and development.  I can adapt to new departments smoothly with helpful coaching from supervisors and co-workers.  The constant experiences I am having and friendships I am building make my work in this big family really enjoyable.

Work-life balance is valued in this company and several interest clubs have been established for employees.  I was honored to have been nominated as chairman of the recreational club to help spread this message over the whole office.  It was a good occasion for me to train up my leadership skills.  Clearly, OOCL presents me with a good environment in which I can develop my entire skill set.
