After completing both my PhD and my MBA, I joined OOCL Logistics in May of 2005 as an executive trainee under the MBA Trainee Management Program. Before joining OOCL, I had worked in the UK with TORG, a transport research group specializing in road toll and policy planning and with an international trading firm in Singapore; where I was involved in business development and helped set up supplier’s networks in India, Pakistan, Africa and Bangladesh.
I have really treasured my training journey and programs in OOCL. It is very clear that People are regarded as assets at OOCL and my training has always been taken very seriously. Besides the comprehensive on-job & project-training in OOCL Logistics, Corporate and Trade Departments, I was given the opportunity to sail aboard the OOCL Hamburg for 10 days in the open sea. There was so much to learn about seaman's life and how our ships and crews operate, carrying our boxes around the world. Although it wasn't much of a "around the world-in-80-days" trip, it was the chance of a lifetime to sail on one of the world largest container vessels and something that no amount of money can buy!
