​I have always been interested in exploring the technologies related to Geographic Information Science (GIS). As a matter of fact, I am studying an MSc program in the field.

From the day I attended the job interview, I foresaw that GIS-related projects might soon be popular and might appear as a part of my job someday in the future, due to the transport nature of the company’s services around the globe.

After 2 years, my prediction came true. I am glad that I have the opportunity to work on the map view for inventory forecast under our enterprise shipping management system that visualizes imbalance of containers among regions or operation zones.

Apart from this, I joined the ‘’HKIE Outstanding Paper Award’’ 2012 and wrote a paper about how GIS is beneficial to liner shipping. My supervisors were very helpful and supportive that they provided professional comments and suggestions.

These tasks have let me apply my knowledge about GIS in my work which has been very fruitful. Doing what I like at work, I gain not just experience but also happiness.
