​HKIE Graduate Sharing - Kenneth Wong from Production Services team

Hi! I am Kenneth Wong from the Production Service Team (PS). I joined OOCL through the HKIE Scheme “A” Graduate Training program.

My main job responsibilities include daily operation of the data center, managing scheduled tasks and resolving production issues. Our data center is truly a state-of-the-art facility with latest technology and fool-proof security. With many things to learn and explore - from managing helpdesk service, backup and recovery to monitoring alerts and change requests- there is never a dull moment. It is truly a unique experience to work in the data center.

I have great teammates who also double up as my mentors when needed. They are experienced, knowledgeable, and are always there to help me understand practical and theoretical aspects of various processes. I am glad to work with such a high-spirited and energetic team.

There are ample opportunities to learn many things in many ways, such as knowledge sharing sessions. These knowledge sharing sessions provide a platform to explore more on different technology topics and learn about interesting technologies other teams at OOCL are working on. This has helped me to broaden my views on the entire IT landscape.

The interactive nature of these sessions allows us to share our thoughts and interesting experiences on the job. I am fortunate to have been selected to join the program and appreciate the efforts our company invests in hiring and training fresh graduates.
