OOCL Shanghai Information System Development Center

Shanghai ISDC (Information System Development Center) was founded in July 2000 as a result of OOCL’s global IT strategy, in addition to the other four development centers in San Jose, Hong Kong, Manila and Zhuhai. Shanghai ISDC now has about 90 engineers, who are the most valuable resources contributing to its growth and future. According to business needs, we recruit university students from top universities each year and train them on shipping/logistics business and advanced software development technology to boost the development resources.

Shanghai ISDC bears the responsibility to develop and maintain innovative e-commerce applications to serve external customers as well as to improve internal operation efficiency of OOCL, in close cooperation with other development centers. Equipped with years of experience, Shanghai ISDC is now involved in the development of leading edge business applications in areas of global supply chain management, warehouse management, transportation management and global invoice processing.

Shanghai ISDC has been making use of cutting-edge technology and proven processes to develop innovative applications since its inception – from J2EE and Rational OOAD in 2000 to Scrum/Agile methodology in 2009. Advanced technologies, such as Tibco EMS, SOA, SmartClient, BPM, Voice Recognition and leading open-source frameworks, are widely used in the projects and solutions developed at Shanghai ISDC
