HKIE Graduate Scheme "A" Training Participant Shares his Experience in the Program

As part of its efforts to give back to the community, OOCL has been nurturing talents under the HKIE Graduate Scheme "A" Training program. Through various assignments and job rotations, fresh graduates are given opportunities to perform and realize their full potential.

Here’s a first hand account of the program from one of the participants:

I am Chiu Wong, a member of the End User Computing (EUC) Development Team at OOCL. I work as a System Analyst, gathering user requirements and analyzing application enhancements.

Last year, OOCL selected me for the HKIE Scheme “A” Graduate Training program. This program allowed me to learn many things within a very short time through job rotations. As a result, I gained hands-on working experience in different aspects of IT. This helped me transform from a fresh graduate to a complete IT professional.

Knowledge sharing is a very noticeable part of the work culture at OOCL. This presents us with great opportunities to learn from senior colleagues and teammates. OOCL provides many platforms for sharing ideas and collaborating, e.g. Tibbr, SharePoint, and OOCL-Wiki. Using these platforms, we can share our thoughts freely in a professional manner and learn from others sharing their experiences. This experience increased my confidence in sharing my knowledge with others and exploring new frontiers.

It feels great to be working in such a sharing and caring company.
