HKIE Graduate from Infrastructure team
OOCL IT

We are the current HKIE Scheme “A” program trainees working in the infrastructure team. Recently, we completed the 2-year training program and are on our way to the next stage of the program.

We have completed many challenging projects, such as Wi-Fi deployment for branch offices, voice-recording server implementation, Microsoft Lync with Cisco Call Manager, and so on.

In these projects, we learned new technologies and soft skills, such as communication and presentation. As OOCL is a global company, we have had opportunities to communicate and collaborate with colleagues in other parts of the world. This has helped us to learn a lot about cultural and business aspects of other countries and regions.

Beside regular projects, we also had opportunities to gain new skills through job rotation, which gave us insights into other projects and teams. When job rotation took us to the development team, we were able to learn new skills, such as programming, design methodologies, and processes. When developers go to the network support team on ob rotation, they expand their knowledge horizon to see IT from a different perspective. Job rotation is a great way to broaden our IT skills and knowledge.

We are very happy and fortunate to be part of this exciting program. This program has given us a great opportunity to experience the joy and challenge of working at the forefront of IT.
