Reefer Service

OOCL's Reefer Service Expertise

OOCL takes responsibility for maintaining the temperature of the reefer at all times from the point of receipt to the point of release. All the different departments (Sales, CSU, Documentation, M&R, Equipment Control, Intermodal, Depot/Terminal operations, Marine operations, Claims.) within our global organisation play a vital role in ensuring that the cold chain is protected and maintained.

With our extensive network and expert staff we offer customers:

  • Care and attention to detail at the initial booking stage as all details of the cargo and transportation are keyed into our global IT systems.
  • Cross-checking the Bill of Lading information with the booking details.
  • Reefer depots PTI and set the parameters of the box correctly.
  • Compiling and issuing of the correct operational documentation.
  • Control of cold chain documentation.
  • Monitoring and controlling of intermodal legs both on road and rail.
  • Effective checks and monitoring at terminals.
  • On board care whilst on feeder or mother vessels whether operated by OOCL or other operators.
  • Effective pick-up and delivery of laden reefers.
  • Effective communications with all parties within the OOCL link and with our customers.
  • The ability to understand and deal with authorities throughout the transit of the reefer.
  • The ability to take fast and efficient corrective action in the case of critical incidents involving reefers.
