Orient Overseas International Announces 2002 Interim Results
 Orient Overseas (International) Limited ("OOIL") Group today announced a profit before taxation of US$4.1 million compared with US$54.7 million for the same period last year. After taxation and minority interests, the Group reported a profit of US$1.0 million, a decrease of US$48.1 million from the US$49.1 million earned during the first half of 2001.

OOCL Expands its Japan, Greater China Service
 OOCL will expand its Kanto/Kansai Taiwan South China Express (KTX) service by adding a second loop (KTX2) to complement the existing KTX1 service. The new two-loop KTX service will increase many of its port calls to twice weekly.

OOCL Launches Direct Service Setouchi (Japan) to Haikou (China), Expands STX Service
 OOCL announced the introduction of a new service for its Intra-Asia service to cover the ports of Haikou in Hainan Province of China and the Setouchi area in Japan. OOCL is the first international carrier to provide a direct liner service to Haikou. The new service will be referred to as the Setouchi Haikou Express (SHX) service.

OOCL Appoints New Agent in Mexico
 Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) announced the appointment of Agencia Naviera De Mexico, S.A. De C.V. (Agnamex) as its new Agent in Mexico. OOCL serves the Mexican Trade utilizing the dedicated all water Gulf Mexican Service (GMX) between the Mexican Gulf and North Europe, and additionally provides Intermodal service from the Monterrey area, via the Laredo gateway, to/from North Europe and Asia.
