MISC, MOL, NYK, OOCL AND PIL STARTS SOUTH-EAST ASIA NEW ZEALAND SERVICE

MISC Berhad (MISC), Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL), Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK), Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) and Pacific International Lines (PIL) have announced their co-operation to operate a two-loop weekly service from Port Klang and Singapore to New Zealand, with the first sailing scheduled in February/March 2006.

The new co-operation will boost service efficiency and allow for broader network coverage. Deploying 9 vessels between 1300 - 1600 Teus , this will allow the Partners to share space on each other's vessels and extend their services to destinations which they do not currently cover, thereby enhancing their role in this region.

Loop 1, currently operated by MISC and PIL with 5 vessels on a 35 day round voyage, will call at Port Klang/Singapore/Brisbane/Auckland/Napier/Lyttleton/Wellington - Nelson (alternate calls)/Brisbane/Port Klang.

Loop 2, with 4 vessels, will call at Singapore/Tauranga/Lyttleton/Singapore on a round voyage of 28 days.

In addition to direct calls, the Lines will also be offering fast connections to their respective service networks.

The strategic Alliance is focused on delivering a high quality product to our customers, meeting their needs and generating new opportunities for mutual growth.

(L-R) Mr. Hamid Nazardin, General Manager, MISC ; Mr. CK Tan, General Manager, PIL ; Mr. Wayne Shih, Director, OOCL;
Mr. Mike Takebayashi, Director, NYK and Mr. Taku Kadooka, Director, MOL in the Principal meeting.
