OOCL Chosen as Container Line of the Year at IFW Freighting Industry Awards

OOCL is pleased to announce that it has been voted the winner of the 2006 IFW Container Line of the Year Award at the IFW Freighting Industry Awards’ Gala Dinner held in London on 19 June 2006.

OOCL was chosen over four other finalists – APL, CSCL, Maersk and Senator Line.

During the award ceremony, OOCL’s extensive international network and modern fleet developments were praised, with a special notice that OOCL is “a recognized industry leader in Information Technology.”

OOCL’s new Intra Asia services, linking Taiwan, Hong Kong and Vietnam; and its two new services providing links to the Middle East, were also noted by the awards committee.

To choose the winner, IFW (International Freighting Weekly) readers nominated Container Carriers of their choice. The IFW Editorial team then put the top five names forward to a further panel of 200 IFW subscribers. This group, representing a cross section of freight forwarders and shippers throughout Europe, then voted for the winner. Over the past 30 years, IFW has become Europe's leading weekly publication covering all aspects of the commercial transport chain. Its readership is divided between UK/Ireland and Continental Europe. The IFW Freighting Industry Annual Awards has 14 Categories recognizing achievements across all sectors of the industry, including air, express, shipping, rail, logistics, innovation and customer service.
