OOCL announced the establishment of OOCL (New Zealand) Ltd., based in Auckland that will service customers through out New Zealand, on 1 March 2006.
OOCL (New Zealand) Ltd., (ONZL) was first registered 24 November 2005 in preparation of OOCL’s expanded services commencing in March from Singapore.
“This development is in line with OOCL's global policy
of having offices in our key markets so we can service our valued customers in New Zealand,” said Hamish Bamford, Managing Director of OOCL (New Zealand).
Mr Bamford transferred from OOCL (Australia) Pty Ltd. (OAL) to head up ONZL effective, 1 January 2006. The Auckland office will have a staff of 13, and took over all agency functions previously handled by McKay Shipping on 1 March 2006.
“Our New Zealand customers will be able to fully benefit from OOCL’s sophisticated in-house integrated systems and from OOCL’s extensive network opportunities via Singapore to and from Asia, the Indian Sub Continent, Europe and North American ports,” said Eddy Declercq, Managing Director OOCL (Australia) Pty Ltd.
