OOCL won the Environment Protection Award at the Seatrade China Awards Ceremony held in Dalian on October 13, 2010.
The Seatrade China Awards were introduced with the aim of honouring business excellence, best practices and innovation across various sectors of the China maritime industry. Some 250 top shipping executives gathered at the Shangri-La Hotel in Dalian at the inaugural awards ceremony.
The Environment Protection Award, sponsored by classification society ABS, highlighted new technology or significant improvements to existing technology that can reduce or prevent marine and atmospheric pollution, or assist in the cleanup of same, as well as emergency response strategies. OOCL excelled in these categories.
Mr. Wilson Guo, North China General Manager of Orient Overseas Container Line (China) Co., Ltd. accepted the award on behalf of the company.
