Update on Containership MOL Comfort Incident

Dear Valued Customer,

Further to our notice to you on June 28, we regret to inform you that the fore section of the containership MOL COMFORT of our alliance partner, MOL, sank on July 10 in the open sea near 19’56”N / 65’25”E.

MOL COMFORT was reported to have split into two sections after having suffered extensive damage to the hull on June 17 in the Indian Ocean while traveling from Singapore to Jeddah in rough weather conditions.  Its aft section sank on June 27.

All the containers that were loaded on the vessel are now lost at sea.  In your best interest, we recommend that you notify your insurer of this incident if your cargoes are insured.
