German Authority’s Requirement for HS Code for all Cargoes Entering or to be Transshipped at German Ports

According to the European Commission’s directive and adopted by German’s authority, with immediate effect, HS Code should be provided for all cargoes entering or to be transshipped at German ports to facilitate the veterinary (animal products) inspection by the authority at the ports.

To avoid any cargo clearance delays and potential extra costs imposed by the Authority or as demurrage, OOCL strongly recommends our customers to provide the appropriate HS Code in the Shipping Instruction at the loading end for all types of commodities.

Thank you for your attention.
