Port Congestion at Norfolk

Extended Norfolk International Terminals (NIT) and Portsmouth Empty Yard gate hours

Dear valued customer,

In response to heavy volumes resulting from peak season cargo, Virginia International Terminals, LLC, is modifying the truck gate hours at Norfolk International Terminals (NIT).

Beginning on Monday, Aug. 26, and until further notice, the truck gates at NIT will remain open until 9 p.m., with last container pickup arrival at the gates no later than 8 p.m. The empty container yard at Portsmouth Marine Terminal will be open and will mirror the gate hours at NIT. The empty yard hours at NIT will be unchanged.
