Potential ILA Work Stoppage on US East and Gulf Coasts

Dear OOCL Valued Customer:

We want to keep you informed about the contract negotiations taking place between the ILA (representing the Union) and the USMX (representing the employers), aided by Federal Mediators. The Master Contract, which governs labour agreements for port operations from Maine to Texas, expired on September 30th. The Contract was extended through February 6th and while some progress has been made, a mutual agreement has not yet been reached.

In the event that an agreement cannot be reached by February 6th and a work stoppage occurs, OOCL wants to assure you that we will do everything possible to minimize disruptions and keep you constantly informed about changes in vessel schedules, cargo location, and terminal status.

For your convenience we will regularly update, in the meantime if you have any specific questions, your local sales or customer service representative will be happy to be of assistance. We thank you for your business.
