Strike situation on APM terminal Rotterdam/ Netherlands
Dear customer,
We would like to inform you about the strike situation at the APM terminal in Rotterdam. The dispute is solely between Unions and APMT regarding working practices at their new facility.
All other terminals in Rotterdam continue to operate as normal, hence the GA Asia-Europe services are not subject to any delays or disruption.
The APM terminal management will provide regular updates on this web site http://apmtrupdate.com/?p=1128
This industrial action at APMT Rotterdam is beyond the control of OOCL and as such considered a force majeure situation.
In reaction to the strike situation the imminent ATX vessel “OOCL Kuala Lumpur” (OKL 061) will NOT call the intended APM terminal in Rotterdam:
• Inbound cargo will be discharged in Antwerp.
• Export cargo not already at APMT in Rotterdam should be diverted to Antwerp
• For export cargo already arrived at APMT in Rotterdam customers may arrange transport to Antwerp on their own account.
For further GA vessels intended to call at APM terminal in the near future, the GA partners have concluded the following contingency plan per vessel/voyage :
“Oakland Express” (KLX057W)
- Inbound cargo to be discharged in Hamburg to connect via LP4 or LP6 vessel (TBC) to Rotterdam DDE
- Export cargo not already at APMT in Rotterdam to be diverted to Antwerp to load to LON75W
“OOCL Antwerp” (OAW057W)
- Inbound cargo to be discharged in Antwerp
- Export cargo not already at APMT in Rotterdam to be diverted to Antwerp for loading
“London Express” (LON075W)
- Vessel to change rotation calling: Thamesport, Antwerp and Hamburg to avoid back loading issues.
- Inbound cargo to be discharged in Antwerp
- Export cargo not already at APMT in Rotterdam to be diverted to Antwerp for Loading
”OOCL Kaohsiung” (OKH01W)
- Vessel to call Antwerp instead of Rotterdam
- Inbound cargo to be discharged in Antwerp
- Export cargo to be delivered direct to Antwerp
To reiterate that due to the force majeure situation OOCL will not be accountable for any cost connected to the cargo that may result out of above contingency plan.
Thank you for your usual support and understanding!
