Changes to Shipment Date
Local News
November 25, 2014

Dear Valued Customer,

In order to align all Trades throughout OOCL, as of 01/01/2015 the definition of Shipment Date for rate application purposes for Asia-Europe, Intra-Europe & Australia/New Zealand shipments will be altered from On Board Date (OBD) to Cargo Receipt Date (CRD – i.e. Gate-in date at 1st port). This will assist to eliminate confusion as to which rate level applies should vessel delays occur.

For the avoidance of doubt, the shipment date for rate application purposes as of 01/01/2015 will be defined as follows:

Trade

Shipment date defined as

Asia-Europe

Gate-in date at 1st port

Transatlantic

Merchant haulage: Gate-in date at 1st port
Carrier’s haulage: Outbound door appointment date

Australia & New Zealand

Gate-in date at 1st port

Intra-Europe

Gate-in date at 1st port
