Piraeus
Pier I is operated by Piraeus Port Authority (PPA), in which the Greek State holds the controlling majority.
Pier II is operated by Piraeus Container Terminal (PCT), subsidiary of Cosco Paciific. An additional Pier (III) is to be constructed and operated by PCT.
Terminal & Facilities
PPA's terminal has an annual capacity of 1.0m TEUS, while PCT's capacity is currently 1.6m, to be increased to 2.6m. PPA's quay walls have a total length of 1000m and can handle ships of up to appx 17m draught, while PCT's total quay wall length amounts to 1450m and can handle ships of up to appx 16m draught.
- Cargo operations are carried out on a round the clock basis, throughout the year, at both Container Terminals, tariffs applied by both Operators being very similar
- Inland transportation network connecting the terminals with all key hinterlands markets via road. A rail network is under construction.
- A Free-Zone at both terminals, operating under the Customs Code of the European Union.
- Procedures followed by both Port Operators, in compliance with ISPS Code.
- Container Stuffing.Unstuffing facilities are offered by PCT, while PPA offers stuffing facilities only.

Thessaloniki
General Information
The container terminal of Thessaloniki is operated by Thessaloniki Port Authority, a private company in which the Greek State holds the controlling majority.
Terminal & Facilities
The terminal has a total length of 600 metres and can service ships of up to 12 m. draught. It has an internal operational area of 200,000 sq. meters and with the undergoing extension operations in Pier No 6, which are expected to be completed in 2010, it will double its present area. It offers:
- a Free Zone, operating under the customs code of the European Union.
- container terminal, operating 24 hours with flat rates.
- links to road and rail networks for Greece and all neighbouring Balkan countries.
Equipment
- Two (2) Post Panamax quayside gantry cranes (lifting capacity up to 50 ton)
- Two (2) quayside gantry cranes (lifting capacity up to 45 ton)
