Mis-declaration of
Cargo
Dear Valued Customer,
We would like to bring
your attention to the importance of clear and accurate cargo descriptions,
especially for Dangerous Cargo/ Fire Risk Cargo/ Prohibited and/or Restricted
cargo, which must be correctly declared by shipper or its agent at the time of
booking.
If it is deemed
necessary to change the cargo descriptions, shipper or its agent must promptly
submit booking amendment to OOCL before the laden container is returned to
the terminal.
In the event that misdescription of cargo is found, either by means of
physical cargo inspection; evidence of other supporting documents or
declaration changes when cargo is in Carrier's custody, the shipper or
its agent shall be responsible for re-rating of freight and charges due. In addition, a
misdeclaration of cargo administration fee per container will be imposed.
Shipper or its agent shall further indemnify and hold OOCL harmless from and
against all loss, damage, expense, actions, and claims for injury to or death
of persons and damage to property arising out of such misdescription.
