Detention rate applicability after free time
Dear Customer,
We would like to inform you that with effect from 1st November 2018, all import and export shipments to and from India where detention has incurred at origin and/or destination will be subject to the following container detention rate applicability after the agreed free time in the service contract.
For Customers who have an agreed extended detention container free time at origin and/or destination, the subsequent charges beyond free time will be applied as per OOCL tariff rate. Any additional detention days after the free time, will be subject to the detention charges as per the relevant day count in OOCL's tariff tier structure.
This means that the additional detention charges beyond extended free time will not automatically be calculated and chargeable from the tariff's 1st tier, rather from the applicable tier reached when including the extended detention container free time.
For example:
Upon the expiry of a 14 day agreed extended free time, the 15th day would be chargeable at the same rate applied in the OOCL published tariff based on the 15th day count of the standard tariff charge tier.
