Westbound CAF will increase to USD 86 per 20' and USD 111 per 40'/45'
Eastbound CAF will increase to USD 75 per 20' and USD 124 per 40'/45' (No Eastbound CAF from Mexico)

Please be advised that with effect January 1, 2010, the "Gulf of Aden Surcharge" or 'GAS' will be revised to USD43/TEU for traffic between the whole of Asia and Europe (both bounds).
This is to continue to cover the ongoing costs of operating within the Gulf of Aden sea lanes and providing safe passage of all cargo, crew, and vessels under the constant threat of piracy still present within the region.

Customers are advised that with effect 1st November 2009 the authorities in Malaysia will require a 6 digit HS code to be manifested for all import shipments to the North Port terminals in Port Klang. This supplements the existing requirements for transhipments.

As we are all aware, the cost of fuel has continued to rise over the last few months. Whilst we have been able to maintain our fuel surcharge at 11% since August we now have no alternative other than to implement a further small adjustment to 13%.

We would like to update you on Monday's gantry crane collapse involving the NYK Themis at DP World Southampton.
First and foremost we understand that the crane driver, who suffered injuries, is in a serious but stable condition, and our thoughts are with him.

On July 13th , at at DP World Southampton, the gantry crane #6 collapsed in the early hours of the morning onto the NYK Themis while she was loading export cargo. As a result, all shipside and landside operations were suspended to allow the emergency services access to the scene of the accident.

The number is called 'Economic Operators Registration and Identification number' (EORI).

We would like to inform you that OOCL will be one of the pilot ocean carriers to start the advanced China customs cargo manifest submission from January 1, 2009.
The official enforcement date for the new regulations is January 1, 2009, but a grace period, covering the initial 3 – 6 months without associated penalties, has been verbally confirmed by China Customs Authorities.
