Maximum weight allowed using standard equipment is 33 tons (including container Tare) per 20' or 40'. Special purpose equipment is needed for containers loaded with heavier weight.
All vessels must notify the Israeli navy (according to the Israeli Ministry of Transport regulations) 100 miles prior to entering the Israeli territorial waters. Use of pilot and tugs are compulsory.
Transhipment cargo must be declared on the import manifest prior to discharging from vessel.
Following information required prior shipment loading/discharging, IMO class, UN number, Page number, flash point, gross weight, net weight, receptacle size (correct packaging description and number of packing), technical name.
IMO classes: 1, 5.2, 6.2, 7 must be discharged/loaded on direct delivery.
The appropriate authorities must be informed of any dangerous cargo to be discharged/loaded a minimum of 24 hours prior to vessel's arrival at the port.
Manifests must be declared 24 hours prior to the vessel's arrival at the port.
The manifest should state the following:

Name of vessel

POL and POD

Bill of lading number

Full names of shippers/receivers and relevant VAT nos.

Container No./type/size and seal number.

No. and kind of packages
-
Description of goods, the cargo harmonized code and gross weight of each container.
