The main port is protected by two breakwaters and can anchor ships with a maximum displacement of 13.5 meters. The entrance channel between the two breakwaters is 183 meters wide and 13.8 meters deep. The Kishon Port area is composed of an external anchorage protected by two breakwaters. The main channel entrance is 1,045 meters long, 80 meters wide and 12 meters deep. Anchorage in the Kishon Port is limited to vessels with a maximum displacement of 9.5 meters. - 7 Gantry Cranes

Ashdod is Israel's main cargo port and is one of the few deep water ports in the world to be built on the open sea. The six conventional piers can handle ships of up to 30,000 tons. Pier no. 5 has a depth of 12.5m and can work Panamax ships of up to 225 meters in length and 60,000 tons capacity.
