About OOCL Japan
The Country

The Head of State in Japan is His Imperial Majesty, the Emperor; the Head of Government is the Prime Minister.

Japan is an archipelago of over 3,000 islands in the Far East. Japan occupies about the same latitudinal range as Quebec, Canada to Key West, Florida, U.S.A.

The total area of the country is about 378,000 square kilometers. Although Japan is almost as large as the state of California, much of the land is mountainous and therefore the rest is densely populated. Honshu, the largest island, is subdivided into five regions from north to south: Tohoku, Kanto, Chubu, Kansai and Chugoku.
