1st July Conference Rate Restoration

Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) from 1st June
Dear Customers,
Further to their announcement dated 28th March 2006, at their recent meeting in London, Member Lines of the FEFC re-assessed market forecasts for 2006. Indications based on the most recent market information suggest that very high volumes of cargo can be expected on the above trades through quarters 2&3 2006 with space - particularly in the peak season - being at a premium.
Cargo from Asia (excluding Japan) to North Europe/Scandinavia and Mediterranean
Conference Rate Restoration – 1st July 2006
In the light of the above, Member Lines of the FEFC have revised the quantum of the Conference rate increase in the above trade lanes effective from 1st July 2006 to USD 250 per TEU. Resulting Conference tariff rates are then valid until 30th September only.
Cargo from Asia (excluding Japan) to Mediterranean Areas only
Peak Season Surcharge (PSS)
Further to their announcement dated 28th March 2006, at the same time, Member Lines of the FEFC confirm that a Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) of USD 90 per TEU will apply on cargo moving in the above trade lanes with effect from 1st June 2006. This will remain in place until 31st October 2006.
