Operational Restrictions

1. Road Limitations
- Maximum length: 19.0 meters (Chassis + Tractor)
- Maximum width: 3.0 meters
- Maximum height: 4.2 meters (Chassis + Container)
- Maximum weight: 40 tons (Cargo + Container + Tractor + Chassis)
- The cargo weight should be spread evenly and the cargo stuffed into container should be tightly secured using block and brace so as not to move during navigation and should not exceed 10.0 tons per axle in compliance with Road Weight Regulation.
- Effective right away OOCL can no longer accept a Store Door (or Mill Delivery or Door Delivery or Door Pick-up) shipment of any container with a gross weight exceeding the aforementioned weights. The recommended average maximum cargo weight should be no more than below table:-

- When making a booking with OOCL, please be prepared to provide our Customer Service Representative the accurate cargo weight for your shipment. Failure to comply with the highway weight restrictions in Korea may result in heavy penalties against the consignee, as the liability and risk rests with your consignee on CY delivery shipments.
2. Terminal Limitation
- Gantry Maximum Lifting Capacity :Installed 14 cranes at KBCT Korea Express Busan Container Terminal (7 cranes for 40.6 tons, 5 cranes for 50.0 tons, and 2 cranes for 65.0 tons)
- Non-working day in terminal :
- the day of Lunar New Year Holiday
- the day of Moon Festival Holiday
3. Transshipment Restriction
Following Dangerous Cargoes are prohibited from transshipment at Pusan:
- All Explosives, Gases, and Radioactive substances/materials
- IMCO Classes 1.1/1.2/1.3/1.4/1.5/1.6/2.1/2.2/2.3/7
- IMCO Classes 3.1/3.2 - all liquids with F.P. (F.P. minus<18 degree C) in Reefer container
- IMCO Class 4.1 - all self-reactive liquids or solid type substances
- IMCO Class 4.2 - Aluminum Alkyls
4. Dangerous Cargo
- Any vessel carrying high explosive substances such as IMCO Class - 1.1/1.2/1.3 are prohibited from entering into the port of Pusan. Also IMCO Classes 1.4/1.5/1.6 are not allowed to be discharged at marine container terminals. So would recommend not to accept this type of high explosive goods for Pusan discharging .
- IMCO Class 7 (Radioactive) and 2 (Gases) are not allowed to be stored at terminal and should be delivered direct from/to shipside under the observation of Customs officer and Safety technicians. In case of Radioactive, IAEA certificate and governmental permission are required and an armed guard escort is required upon discharge. Otherwise, offenders will be strongly disciplined.
- Dangerous goods/substances except for Explosives, Gases, Radioactive materials and Aluminum Alkyls may be stored at a designed DG block in terminal, but are subject to permission from concerned authorities in advance. Otherwise, direct delivery is required.
- All Dangerous Goods should be devanned and stored at dangerous goods warehouses designated by Pusan Customs house if customer does not have own DG warehouse/storage.
5. Customs Requirements
- Full name and address of Inbound Consignee/Notify Party/Also Notify Party in the country is required. P.O. Box is not acceptable.
- Actual piece count must be declared. The unit of Package, Skid, Pallet and Bundle are not acceptable.
- If contents of customers' declaration do not match with carriers' Import Manifest details, amendments must be made within 24 hours after the Import Manifest is submitted to Customs Office by the carrier.
