New ISO Standard for High Security Seal – ISO 17712:2010

 
Dear Valued Customers,

Please be advised that effective March 1, 2012, the current International Organization for Standardization (ISO) mechanical seal standard (ISO/PAS 17712) will be replaced with a new ISO standard--ISO 17712:2010. 

The new ISO standard requires two additional requirements for the mechanical seal and they are as follow:
 
•         Testing of each mechanical seal’s ability to indicate evidence of tampering must conform to the new standard
•         A minimum 18mm diameter requirement for bolt seals must be met

OOCL will fully cooperate with the authorities concerned to ensure our compliance to the new ISO standard on the seal requirement is met. 

Customers who will be responsible for supplying and affixing high security seals on their containers are also reminded to ensure full compliance to the new ISO requirements.
