2. Important Timing at Terminal

2.1 Cut-off time at terminal/CFS for container / LCL cargo

  • CY Container: 12 hours before vessel arrival (Pilot Station Time)
  • CFS Cargo: 36 hours before vessel arrival (Pilot Station Time)

2.2 Free Storage for Containers

  • Import Containers

    Commence from the time the container stacked in yard to date removed. If free storage period is exceeded, the store rent shall be calculated from the time of completion of discharge of the vessel to the time of delivery.
    • Laden Container: 5 Days
    • Empty Container: 5 Days
    • Overheight / Overwidth: 5 Days
    • Refrigerated Container: 3 Days
       
  • Export Containers

Commence from the time is stacked in yard to date loaded onto vessel. If free storage period is exceeded, the store rent shall be calculated as below:

  • Laden Container: 7 Days
  • Empty Container: 7 Days
  • Transshipment/Re-export Containers

Transshipment / Re-export container have transshipment pre-advised as such prior to vessel's arrival. Transshipment / Re-export container not re-shipped within the prescribed free storage period shall lose the right to preferential rate & storage shall be levied on the containers based on the
tariff for normal import containers

  • Laden Containers: 28 Days
  • Empty Containers: 28 Days
  • Dangerous Cargo (DG) Containers

    Port Kelang

    All DG (Dangerous) containers classified under Group 3 are allowed to stay in the terminal. No DG (Dangerous) containers classified under Group 2 by LPK (Lembaga Port Kelang) is allowed to stay in the port without prior approval by LPK. Free storage for DG (Dangerous) containers with LPK approval.

    • Import/Export DG (Dangerous) Container: Upon Discharge / Loading (Group 2 by LPK)
    • Transshipment DG (Dangerous) Container: 3 Days prior approval from LPK

    Penang

    No DG (Dangerous) goods is allowed to stay in port without prior approval by Penang Port Commerce. Free storage for DG (Dangerous) containers with LPK approval. Call Dates/schedule: PPSB INTERNET system available for on-line enquiry at http://www.penangport.com/

    • Import/Export DG (Dangerous) Container: 24 hours
    • Transshipment DG (Dangerous) Container: 72 hours
