Customer Advisory - Cargo Misdeclaration
Dear Valued Customers,
At OOCL, ensuring safety and security for your cargo, our crew, and vessels is our top priority.
With
Reference to IMO International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea
(SOLAS), 1974, Chapter VII - Carriage of dangerous goods*, we are
obliged to safeguard the well-being of our customer's cargo, our assets
and vessel crews.

As a reminder: in accordance with OOCL's tariff, we had and will implement a charge of USD 30,000.00 per container globally for any misdeclaration of dangerous and hazardous cargoes (DG Goods) along with an administration fee of USD 1,000.00 per container. Misdeclaration includes incorrect or partial declarations, late declarations, alterations, or omissions.
Furthermore,
please be aware that both the shipper and consignee will bear full
responsibility for all associated costs and consequences resulting from
misdeclaration. This
encompasses corrective measures, claims, fines, liabilities, losses,
delays, damages, or expenses, as detailed in OOCL's bill of lading terms
and conditions.
It
is crucial to emphasize that an inaccurate declaration of DG Goods not
only violates our contractual terms but also contravenes relevant laws,
posing safety risks, causing economic losses, and disrupting supply
chain operations.
We
earnestly request our esteemed customers to strictly adhere to the
accurate declaration of all DG Goods. Your cooperation is indispensable
in maintaining a secure and efficient supply chain.
Thank you for your continued understanding and support.
Yours sincerely
OOCL (UAE) LLC [Customer Service Department]
