Rate of Exchange Setting

Customers are advised that we have changed the way we set vessel Rates of Exchange. Our tariff rules have been amended so that the follow methodologies are employed:

  • For export shipments, payment of freight and charges in the Netherlands in local currency is now based on the daily spot rates published by the European Central Bank 10 working days prior to the scheduled departure date of the trunk vessel from load port in Europe.

  • For import shipments, payment of freight and charges in the Netherlands in local currency is now based on the daily spot rates published by the European Central Bank 10 working days prior to the scheduled arrival date of the trunk vessel at discharge port in Europe.

Should you require more information, please contact your local Customer Service Centre who will be happy to assist.
