Nationwide Goods Transport strike called off
This is to inform that after a meeting between transporters and provincial government the strike which lasted seven consecutive days was called off effective 26th August, 2008.
Since the Strike was called off yesterday afternoon, there are lots of backlog as terminals are congested with import containers that consignee were not able to take delivery. Foresee it will take sometime to clear the backlog.
There are also a lot of export containers which were rolled over need to be submitted urgently into the terminals in order not to delay any further. There were cases of consignee cancel order and source from other neighbouring countries.
