HOLD ON /NON RELEASE OF N.A.T.O./AMERICA/AFGHAN TRANSIT CONTAINERS

MCC PaCCS PICT Customs authority issued the letter that NATO & American Army cargo will not be released from terminal till further advise which previously were auto released upon discharging, however other Afghan commercial cargo can be released after customs release order. Further in the letter customs did not mentioned not to discharge any NATO & American Army cargo at terminals, however they verbally informed terminals to inform shipping line not to bring these NATO & American forces cargo for Karachi port discharge.

At KICT/PICT they are having the terminal congestion problems, hence they are reluctant to discharge these NATO & American Army cargo at terminals due to stuck up and pending deliveries for the long time of period till this matter will not be settled between Pakistan Government and NATO alliances forces.

At QICT (KHI03) they have enough space so they are still accepting the NATO & American forces cargo discharge at QICT and major carrier MSK carrying such cargo, however deliveries are stop as per the customs verbal instructions till further notice at QICT as well.

We OOCL not carrying such NATO & American forces cargo, therefore we are not facing such problems, however it is better to inform all overseas offices on this issue.
