OOCL demonstrates concern for the environment and makes proactive efforts to care for it. Green Week has been one of the initiatives we have promoted; with total employee participation in all our offices since 2007.

The theme of this year, Acting Green: We take it personally serves to reaffirm efforts we have made together over the years on environmental care (EC) initiatives onboard and off shore. It also allows us to set new targets on EC initiatives in different dimensions.
Conserving resources has been one of the three directions the Company strives towards on EC. In past years, overall awareness and knowledge of colleagues on EC have been greatly heightened. One of our drives for EC is the use of e-Commerce platform for both customers, vendors and partners.
For Customers, we continue to encourage use of “My OOCL Centre” (MOC) in www.OOCL.com for bookings, Shipping Instruction submission, transmission of eBL to buyer, receipt of invoices in soft copy for processing, review of own shipment data through search criteria in the site and submission of permits through emails. Electronic payment through telegraphic transfer or Giro is also encouraged.
For Vendors and Partners, we encourage use of our vendor made systems such as OperationSmart, retrieval of schedules in OOCL.com and issuing of invoices in soft copy to OOCL, with payment received via telegraphic transfer.
With the continued support from you, we have succeeded in achieving remarkable increase in the use of e-Commerce tools and thus the reduction of faxes and paper usage. We look forward to your continued support in our green effort.
