About OOCL UK
The UK is comprised of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, and has a culturally diverse population of approximately 60 million people. The UK is a member of the EU but has not joined the Euro zone; local currency is the Pound Sterling.
Although the UK's capital city is London, OOCL's country headquarters is in Levington, about 80 miles to the North East of London, near Ipswich. Regional offices are also located in Manchester, Glasgow and Belfast.
Most of our trunk vessels call at Southampton. Other ports we use are Liverpool, Hull, Grangemouth, Belfast and, to a much smaller degree since September 2006, Thamesport.

Our excellent road haulage capabilities allow us to offer a high quality collection and delivery service to all towns and cities across the country. We have a fleet of 25 Southampton-based vehicles which are on exclusive long-term charter to OOCL, 5 in Birmingham and 5 in Liverpool. These are supplemented with another 50 trucks nationally, giving us approximately 85 vehicles at our disposal. Particular management attention is paid to ensuring timely arrival to meet customer needs, and pro-active communication is facilitated by the latest in satellite navigation and tracking technology. We soon hope to be able to offer electronic PODs and vehicle tracking.
We also have our own train, the OOCL Express, a daily service in each direction between Southampton and the two railhead hubs of Manchester and Leeds. This covers the M62 corridor. As well as taking cargo off the road for the benefit of the environment, the service guarantees daily freight capacity which can otherwise be difficult to find.
Other strengths of OOCL in the UK are our UKX feeder which operates between Hull, Grangemouth and Southampton, and our SIX feeder between Belfast, Greenock and Southampton. Both facilitate fast connections with deep sea trunk vessels.
