Our Irish Feeder Service (SIX) has been enhanced to provide a call in Rotterdam. To enable this, the regular Greenock call has been dropped.
Two vessels now operate on this route in a butterfly rotation, namely the Conelbe and the Euphoria.

The FEFC has made the following announcement regarding imports into UK ports. Please be advised that OOCL will apply the new surcharge to all shipments with ‘Onboard Date’ (rather than container discharge date) of 1st December 2007 onwards.

We would like to inform our customers of an oversight contained in the 3rd December 2007 website announcement regarding the increase in UK Inland Fuel Surcharge rates.
Contrary to the website announcement (and in line with our email-distributed notice), please be guided that the increase from 8.8% to 12% will apply only to carrier haulage within the UK (inc. Northern Ireland) and not the Republic of Ireland.

Following a review of our Import and Export Documentation Fees, which were last changed in 2004, customers are advised that with effect 1st February 2008 they will be increasing to £25 per Bill of Lading.
This will apply for all shipments to the UK (Import) or all Bills of Lading released in the UK (Export).

On the morning of Friday 31st August, the Southampton Container Terminal Operations database experienced a corruption of its core data; caused by a failed system update. The disruptions to the database caused incorrect moves from their straddle carriers, which tried to retreive containers that were not present or were incorrect.

The civil engineering works in Southampton to lay new crane tracks along the quay which resulted a berth being closed have been completed to schedule. We are pleased to advise that all four deep sea berths are now back in operation.

Southampton Container Terminal has today issued an urgent announcement regarding the impending August bank holiday.
With effect from Monday 20th August 2007, the current 7 day export receivable window for laden export containers will be reduced to a 5 day window for all customers. Accordingly, from midnight on Sunday 19th August 2007, the terminal will not accept any laden export containers which are not due to be shipped on a vessel due alongside the ship within 5 days (including weekends).

Further to our notice of 11th April detailing the enhanced feeder services to/from Scotland (the UKX service to/from Grangemouth and the SIX service to/from Greenock), effective 1st June we will be implementing new haulage tariffs for these ports.
All haulage on shipments moving via these ports will be rated in accordance with these new tariffs, unless fixed at other levels in Service Contracts.

As you may be aware, since the implementation of the US 24 hour advanced manifest regulations, charges for amending data and re-submitting after the initial transmission of manifest information to US Customs was set at US$ 40 per amendment. This was subsequently extended to our Canadian services upon the implementation of the Canadian 24 hour advanced manifest regulations.

We would like to refer to our notice of January 19th relating to the situation at the port of Southampton. While we have been able to continue to operate, albeit in a challenging environment, as most of you are now aware the terminal operators have imposed a number of restrictions and no longer accepts delivery of export laden containers on to the terminal in excess of 7 days prior to vessel arrival day.

SCT has lifted most restrictions on export deliveries to the Quay with effect Monday 29th January. We therefore expect that the situation will gradually improve and return to normality within the next few days.
