Update on New ISO Standard for High Security Seal – ISO 17712:2010

Dear Valued Customers,

Further to our previous customer advisory (February 10) on the “New ISO Standard for High Security Seal – ISO 17712:2010”, an update has been issued by the U.S. Customs Border Protection (CBP) that implementation of the new standard relating to the testing of the mechanical seal’s ability to indicate evidence of tampering will be delayed until further notice.

Regarding the minimum 18mm diameter requirement for the bolt seals, OOCL is pleased to inform you that we fully meet this aspect of the new standard when it takes effect on March 1, 2012.  Customer may refer to the attached documents indicating OOCL’s compliance certification to this requirement:

Mega Container Seal Certificate
UnoLock3.0 Certificate

We will keep you informed on any further developments on the above matters.

Should you have any questions or require assistance with regards to this advisory or your shipment needs, contact OOCL Customer Service in USA or Canada at 1-888-388-6625.
