Severe Spring Weather Delays to North America Rail Shipments
Midwest USA Flooding – North American railroads are experiencing flood conditions in Missouri and Illinois disrupting normal rail operations. High water is affecting shipments moving along the Missouri, Illinois, Mississippi and Wabash Rivers at various points between Southern Iowa and Memphis, TN.
The high water flow is moving south from Iowa and Illinois through Arkansas, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana.
BNSF, UPRR, Norfolk Southern and CSX all report service disruptions due to flooding. Many bridges and main line track sections have been closed due to high water.
Rail carriers are re-routing trains to alternate routes to minimize shipment delays. The rail service disruption is expected to last 4 to 5 days. OOCL Customer Service will be providing detailed notification to those impacted customers.
