Customer Advisory – Port Congestion Surcharge

Dear Valued Customer:

Please be advised that the following Port Congestion Surcharges will be applicable to all cargo entering or exiting the United States that is impacted by labor related disruptions, including: strikes, lock-outs, work stoppages or slow downs at any U.S. Ports.

Once labor unrest has occurred, this charge shall continue to be assessed until such a time as OOCL provides notice in our tariff that the impact of the labor unrest on our operations and those of any affected port(s) has ended.

These charges reflect our best estimates of the anticipated additional costs associated with labor disruptions and the congestion that follows, including items such as vessel costs, terminal costs, storage, fuel and administrative costs.

OOCL will continue to provide further updates on any labor developments that could impact the triggering of these charges.

Please note that subject charges have been filed in the applicable OOCL Rules Tariffs previously, and are to be levied predicated on the date of cargo receipt at origin.
